Obama’s Muslim Connection Won’t Go Away

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s ties to Islam is a story line that is not going away, according to a recent analysis by the Project for Excellence in Journalism.

“Rumors that Barack Obama was a secret Muslim whose patriotism was questionable first appeared on blogs and in e-mail messages,” PJE noted.

“In March, the rumors began to show up in the press, though only minimally.”

PJE’s News Coverage Index found that media reports about these rumors accounted for 0.4 percent of the “campaign newshole” from mid-March to mid-April.

But coverage has steadily increased since then, and accounted for 3.8 percent of the campaign news from mid-June to mid-July.

Dear Investment Managers,

I should have seen it coming.

Slowly things starts to vanish… like the free Red Bull and Rock Star drinks. Then the disappearance of diet coke and other various snacks and sodas. Next a kind e-mail from your assistant to the entire office with the title “Lunch Policy”. It read that the office would no longer be providing lunch for its employees. When I looked in the office kitchen I noticed that even the Poland Spring order was light – the personal sized water bottles were replaced with the more economic jug.

BEEF FAJITAS

1 lb. flank or sirloin steak, sliced diagonally into strips
1/2 c. fresh lime juice
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 med. onion
1 med. green or red pepper
4 tbsp. oil
Four tortillas, warmed

 

Place beef strips into shallow dish. Combine lime juice, garlic powder, black pepper and Tabasco sauce and pour over beef, cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Remove meat from marinade; drain thoroughly. Cut onion and pepper into 1″ chunks. Place 2 tablespoons of oil in frying pan. When oil is hot, brown onion and pepper until onion is slightly brown on edges. Remove onion and pepper; set aside. Add 2 tablespoons oil, brown beef, add onion and pepper; cook for 1 minute. Serve in warm flour tortillas. Makes 4 servings.TIP: Chicken breasts can be substituted for the beef. Favorite condiments served with Fajitas are: Guacamole, salsa and/or sour cream.
